White Label Custom Mobile Golf Course Apps.
So I just revisited one of my favorite local course’s “native” iPhone app and let’s just say I could see the potential it has. But I also am a little bit of a modern design guy, and this app feels like it was designed by an intern in 2014 with some kind of cross platform form builder. In looking into it, it might have been? And this is from the top name in this space. Add to that around every corner I was presented with links that point back to their website that no longer work, or that display some weird branded variations of pages, and the brand was the app maker and not the course. I’m not sure if I just found an outdated example, and who’s fault that ultimately was, but the templates on the developer’s site means it likely could and would look the same if made now.
This doesn’t seem to be the way for a golf course to put your best foot forward and drive engagement with your customers.
I assume a lot of modern golfers will actually be turned off by this very dated and weird experience. I actually remember immediately uninstalling the first time I looked at it years ago. If you are competing against the modern golf scorecards, you have to have the “feel” that convinces people you are gaining convenience while not giving up a cool scoring experience.
So I decided to take the guts of our QuickNine Scorecard App, modernize the scorecard and interactive map and build around it a real white label experience that feels like it is from 2026. Less Friction, more native, with pieces being added that will drive engagement without feeling like they were added from some pick list to check a box. And at a more affordable rate and with continued development that it makes sense to never “abandon” your apps.
We have the core app on iOS ready to be demoed and are working on building out other features like the weather integration and leaderboards. And Android development is following right behind to be ready for next season as well.
We have big ideas of where this should go, and want to build out even more great features that increase your engagement. But we want to do it the right way. We want all your leagues and tournaments to really shine in your app and be managed interactively as they go. We want to find ways to increase food and beverage sales around every turn. We want to offer your members an elevated experience. And we want you to help us in making this the best version of YOUR apps.
The one thing that people always have, even on the golf course, is their phone. Shouldn’t they be interacting with you while they’re here.
If you manage a golf course, we’d love to hear what you think.
